On December 20, 2014, Clifford Hospital hosted Guangdong Province continuing medical education program on “Patient Safety Management Seminar”. Over 200 participants comprised of nursing directors, head nurses and other medical management personnel attended. They were from 11 hospitals such as Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, the Second Hospital of Guangdong Province Hospital of TCM, Guangzhou Panyu Hexian Memorial Hospital and Guangzhou Panyu Central Hospital.
In order to enhance the understanding of patient safety management in nursing, Mrs Daiyaning, JCI Office, Wangxiaohui, Director of Quality Improvement Dept., Li linyan, Vice Director of Nursing Dept., respectively gave a speech on the topics of “JCI Accreditation & International Patient Safety Goals”, “Quality Improvement & Patient Safety” and “the Application of SBAR Communication Model in Nursing Care Services” according to 6 International Patient Safety Goals recognized worldwide, and Hospital Quality Improvement Method & Standardized Patients Transportation. The speech addressed the standards of JCI accreditation, which represents the highest level of medical service and hospital management.
Director Chen Weiju, Chairman of Nursing Management Branch of Guangdong Province Hospital Association, Deputy Chairman of Guangdong Province Nursing Association, emphasized that it is imperative to develop general nursing to advanced practice nursing and evidence-based nursing. Special attention was directed to patient safety, enhancing communication between physicians, patients, nurses, and developing the fundamental premise of patient- focused care model in the management and growth of the hospital.
